EBURRU INTEGRATED CONSERVATION PROJECT (EICP) in the Rift Valley of Kenya whose aims are to reforest Eburru forest, conserve Lakes Naivasha and Elementeita, and provide safe drinking water for the residents of Eburru hills has now been receiving support for 2 years from the International Trees Foundation, UK. Various tree nurseries and water pans have been established through their support, and that of friendly schools in Scotland. ITF is also presently supporting the Mt Kenya Trees Project aimed at growing trees for fuel and food.

The project has also received some support from Ms Hanna Morjan of Scotland, working with the Findhorn Foundation. She has supported some community groups plant indigenous trees, and sink a water pan near Eburru market. This project has helped replant the Eburru hills with over 200,000 indigenous trees, and sank 5 water pans. Additionally the International Land Coalition (ILC) supported this programme with additional funds to mainly tackle the land ownership component in Eburru area. An ecotourism programme, bee keeping and tree planting exercise was supported by ILC. This project has benefited 900 households directly.
